CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST

We do civil engineering - the kind that makes sites work. Grading that drains properly. Servicing that connects cleanly. Designs that hold up once they hit the field.

We’re looking for a Civil Engineering Technologist with experience in site development, someone who knows how to take a concept and help turn it into clear, coordinated, buildable drawings. You’ll work closely with our engineers bringing designs to life through detailed modeling, coordination, and documentation.

In your first year at co-elevate, you will become a go-to technical contributor supporting site development projects through detailed modeling, coordination and drawing production.

You’ll work closely with our engineers to bring designs to life, helping ensure our drawings are clear, coordinated and ready to build. Along the way, you’ll strengthen your technical skills, build confidence working through real-world site challenges, and play a key role in keeping projects moving forward.

[ a day in the life of a civil technologist at co-elevate ]

  • Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks

  • Construct Civil 3D models

  • Prepare plan, profile, section, and earthworks drawings

  • A daily break for a game of table tennis, hitting teh Golf Sim, or adding to the on-going puzzle is always welcome

  • Attend one of coelevate’s group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.

  • Participate in one of coelevate’s charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events

  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)

  • Prepare technical specifications, documents, and reports

  • Occasional site work as required

  • Other duties as assigned/required

  • At the end of the day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance

[ what we are looking for in a civil technologist ]

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or equivalent

  • Experience in site plan Land Development, and municipal infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of applicable Canadian Standards and Codes

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD

  • Ability to read drawings

  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions

  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites

  • Willing to work in-office (London, Kitchener, St Thomas)
