FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING ADMINSTRATOR
Are you the person who can’t leave a $4.72 discrepancy unexplained?
We should probably talk.
We're looking for a number nerd (the good kind) to join co-elevate as our Finance & Accounting Administrator keeping the financial side of our business accurate, organized and moving, while also helping keep our St. Thomas office humming.
co-elevate is a structural and civil engineering consulting firm with offices across Ontario. We're a relatively small team, which means roles here don't always fit neatly into a box. We work collaboratively, look for better ways to do things, and trust people to take real ownership of their work.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. One minute you might be reconciling accounts or working through invoicing, and the next you're helping solve an office problem or getting things organized for a team event. We're looking for someone who likes owning their work, notices when something doesn't quite add up, and isn't afraid to find a better way of doing things.
[ mission for this role ]
Keep co-elevate's financial operations accurate, organized and moving creating the clarity and consistency our team needs to focus on doing brilliant work.
Own the day-to-day accounting rhythm, from bookkeeping and reconciliations through invoicing, payroll administration and month-end.
Understand how our projects, systems and financial information connect and investigate when something doesn’t look right.
Provide accurate, reliable financial information that helps us understand how the business is performing.
Look for ways to make our financial processes and systems clearer, more reliable and more efficient.
[ what we are looking for in a finance and accounting administrator ]
Several years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience in reconciliations, AP/AR, invoicing and month-end.
A strong understanding of accounting principles not just where to click in the software.
Experience working across accounting systems and Excel, with the curiosity to understand how information flows between them.
Strong organization, attention to detail and follow-through, with the judgement to investigate when something doesn’t make sense.
Someone who takes ownership, asks good questions and looks for better ways to make processes work.
Comfortable working full-time, in person, from our St. Thomas office.
[ bonus points ]
Experience in engineering, architecture, consulting or another project-based professional-services business.
Experience with project accounting, including budgets, time, billing, WIP or project financial performance.
Experience working across multiple connected financial or project-management systems.
You’ve improved, automated or redesigned an accounting process rather than simply inherited one.
You enjoy being part of a small office where everyone occasionally pitches in to keep things running and have been known to get behind a little office fun.
[ what success looks like]
[ perks + benefits ]
Competitive salary + profit sharing bonus
Flexible vacation with minimum 4 weeks paid time off
RRSP matching
Comprehensive health, dental, LTD, and life insurance
Continuing education budget + learning time
Regular team socials and events
A team that genuinely cares
[ why co-elevate? ]
We believe good ideas can come from anywhere.
We believe ownership matters.
We believe people do their best work when they feel trusted, supported, and connected.
And we believe the best organizations are built by people who keep things moving, notice when something doesn't add up, and quietly make everything around them work a little better.
