Community Connections
In the past seven months, our team has shared some incredible moments of coming together for causes that matter.
Sometimes that meant rolling up our sleeves, or lacing up our running shoes. Other times it meant picking up a game controller - but there was always one common goal - making a difference.
We started by teaming up with Canadian Blood Services, giving the gift of life through a blood donation drive. From there, we joined Retail Therapy KW, helping sort through stacks of clothing donations to support victims of domestic violence. At Food4Kids Waterloo Region, we packed nutritious food parcels so vulnerable children would have something to eat when school cafeterias and snack programs weren’t available.
In London, we brought our cooking skills to Ronald McDonald House, pooling funds to buy fresh ingredients and preparing a warm, comforting meal for families going through unimaginably difficult times. We also put our creativity on display at Canstruction London, building a 2-meter replica of Snoopy’s House entirely from canned goods at White Oaks Mall - all of which was later donated to local food banks.
And of course, fundraising for our Charity of the Year gave us plenty of chances to mix fun with fundraising - from an epic Super Smash Brothers tournament, to a high-energy fitness challenge, to a friends-and-family trivia night filled with laughter and just the right amount of competitiveness. Employee funds are matched and this year will go directly to hospital foundations in the cities where we work - Waterloo Region Health Network Foundation, London Health Sciences Foundation, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation - Lethbridge.
We also hit the pavement for the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women, helping raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health programs.
Every event was different, but the feeling was the same - a shared sense of purpose and the knowledge that, together, we can create ripples of impact far beyond our workplace.
